France’s Le Figaro daily reported on Thursday that an arms embargo by the EU on China could be lifted in early 2011.
A source close to EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton told the paper the lifting “could happen very quickly.”

How pathetic! Now that China developed the 4th gen stealth fighter while the whole EU has nothing to show either in any plan or even just a mock up, and someday may have to buy the stealth fighters from China, now they wanted to end the arms embargo. How convenient! The question is, would China even be interested in buying large amount weapons from EU, given that they can now produce something EU can’t.
This stupid embargo policy cost tons of jobs for EU (and probably some in the US), large amount of money that could have been made from China over the past two decades had the policy never being put in place, not to mention, the policy forced China to go faster with their indigenousness R&D for weapon systems.
The real question for the US is, how long are we going to continue this stupid moron policy on our side? Given our humongous national debt, billions in trade imbalances with China each year, the longer we hold this stupid policy, the more job and revenue opportunities we will lose for us and for our children. Let’s not forget that China has more than 300K college graduates each year, winning international college math and science competitions over us, already can make the fastest super computer in the world, can fly men into space, can make nukes on their own, now had the 4th gen stealth fighters on the runway, just how long are we going to continue this stupid believe that the US can hold off China’s advancement by not selling them some high tech stuff? If we continue, someday we will be just as stupid looking as the EU today!
Blue I’m sure is a bright guy, yet his post is one of the stupidest I’ve read in a long time.
