British MoD employee leaked info to winning bidder of search and rescue service

The British Ministry of Defense was forced to suspend plans to privatize its search-and-rescue service after an employee was found to have passed sensitive information to the winning bidder.

Soteria Search and Rescue, a consortium consisting of Thales, RBS and CHC Helicopter, was selected as the preferred winner in February 2010.

RBS announced that it has pulled out of the consortium because of the employee’s activities.
