A U.S. diplomatic cable, leaked by WikiLeaks, from the U.S. ambassador to India Timothy Roemer had expressed doubts over HAL’s capability to manufacture jets under the MMRCA program.
Roemer also expressed surprise at the lack of automation and safety precautions at the HAL plant during his visit in February last year.
