The Fleet Air Arm Museum in Somerset, U.K. is restoring the world’s oldest aircraft carrier, a 1918 Thorneycroft Seaplane Lighter.
These lighters carried the Curtiss H12 flying boat or Sopwith Camel out to sea and were towed by warships.
They can be flooded to allow flying boats to embark and disembark but the Camel will have to ditch or land ashore.
