The United Arab Emirates confirmed that one of its F-16s enforcing the no-fly zone in Libya had crashed on landing at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy. The pilot ejected to safety.
A NATO official said the plane was on a routine transfer flight from Sardinia.
