Pentagon fights safety rule for charter and cargo airlines

Opposition from the Pentagon has forced the Obama administration delayed new pilot safety rules for charter and cargo airlines.

The new plan is suppose to help prevent pilots from committing deadly mistakes due to fatigue after long hours behind the controls.

But the Pentagon argued that such a move will affect its operations around the world as more commercial pilots are needed per aircraft or the route will have to be shorten to allow crew change. The U.S. military depends on these airlines to ferry its troops and cargo.
