The United States is building a secret base in Ethiopia where it can deploy drones to strike al-Qaeda affiliates in Somalia and Yemen.
While MQ-9s have been deployed in Seychelles for anti-piracy missions since September 2009, classified U.S. diplomatic cables show that the UAVs there have also conducted strikes in Somalia.
