USAF Secretary discussed F-16 deal in Iraq

U.S. Air Force Secretary Michael Donley was in Iraq on Tuesday and had talks with acting defence minister Saadun al-Dulaimi. Both of them discussed on Iraq’s intention to purchase 36 F-16s.

LM CEO: New F-16s for Taiwan merely maintain island’s capabilities

Lockheed Martin CEO, Robert Stevens, told the Reuters Aerospace and Defense Summit that selling 66 F-16C/Ds to Taiwan would merely maintain the island’s air power capabilities, not boost them.

Canada may not have sufficient fighters to defend airspace

A leaked U.S. diplomatic cable says Canada will only have 34 operational F/A-18s to defend the country and the number will shrink to 24 once it transitions to the F-35.
