USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) entered the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations Feb. 24 to prepare for a hull swap with USS Essex (LHD 2) later this spring.
Bonhomme Richard completed a mid-life modernization and maintenance availability last fall which will allow the ship to operate the MV-22 Ospreys and the F-35B.
