The U.S. Navy’s newest helicopter squadron was established on Mar. 1 at Naval Air Station North Island.
HSM-78 is the fourth Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) to be established. It will fly the MH-60R with Carrier Air Wing 17.
