Rising costs of building USS Gerald R. Ford have been contained and might fall, the U.S. Navy program official overseeing construction of the new aircraft carrier told a news conference.
Capt. Chris Meyer said workers at Newport News Shipbuilding have adapted to working with thin plate steel and costs for the new EMALS have been contained.
