German weekly Der Spiegel reported on Sunday that after a months-long probe, it can confirm that Israeli submarines are equipped with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles.
Der Spiegel said former high-ranking officials from the German Defense Ministry have always assumed Israel would deploy nuclear weapons on the submarines. Former State Secretary Lothar Rühl even discussed the issue with the military in Tel Aviv.
