I was surprised to read a comment from Dick Taylor ( ex Rolls Royce Technical Liaison Manager ) on Tue, 26/06/2012 – 16:06 PM / the Jakarta Post Dec 11 2012 at 10:55 AM. I quote him: ” I had to check an F-27 that crashed near Bandung killing more than 30 peoples and then another F-27 at Surabaya when a pilot was teaching 2 other pilots and again they all died. Both these F-27 had the Rolls Royce engine failure and I´m worried that Rolls Royce want to hide engine failure.”
end of quote.
It´s a mystery because the Fokker F-27 and Faichild ( US ) licence built F-27 both manufacturers type of F-27 are powered by Rolls Royce Dart. These F-27 have been flying for a while. There are several aircraft accidents with F-27. If it´s true what Dick Taylor said then it´s worth to investigate all accident reports where
F-27´s are involved and in particular the engine failures. Furthermore the Rolls Royce Dart were also installed in the Vickers Vicount. There are several Rolls Royce Dart series.
