Fearing Israel may carry out air strikes in Syria to destroy the latter’s chemical weapons, Pentagon officials are talking with their Israeli counterparts to get a sense of their intentions.
U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is scheduled to visit Israel in the coming days and the issue will be part of his agenda.
