U.S. President Obama has nominated Rear Adm. James D. Syring as the next head of the Missile Defense Agency.
He replaces Lt. Gen. Patrick O’Reilly who was criticized in a May 2 inspector general’s report for having an abusive management style.
Syring, the program executive officer for Integrated Warfare Systems, will also be nominated for the rank of Vice Admiral.
