Sweden said on Saturday it would buy 40-60 new Saab Gripen E/F fighters as part of an agreement with Switzerland to lower the cost of procurement.
To help fund the purchase, the Swedish government will increase the defense budget by 300 million kronor extra in 2013 and 2014, and 200 million kronor extra annually after that.
