The investigation into the crash of a USAF CV-22 near Eglin Air Force Base in June found that the co-pilot at the controls had “inadvertently” flew through the rotor wake of the lead aircraft.
The report added that “CV-22 wake modeling is inadequate for a trailing aircraft to make accurate estimations of safe separation from the preceding aircraft.”
