Two Indian Air Force pilots who flew Chinese Defense Minister Gen Liang Guanglie from Mumbai to New Delhi on Wednesday were given two envelopes containing Rs 50,000 each in cash when they arrived in New Delhi.
They immediately reported the incident to their superiors and the cash has been deposited in the government ‘Toshakhana’ (treasury or depository) since it was diplomatically sensitive to return the ‘gift’.
