Seymour Johnson AFB say proposed wind turbines could affect F-15E training sorties

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base is opposing a plan to install 49 wind turbines within 15 nautical miles of its military training routes.

Base officials argued that these turbines could pose a safety risk to pilots, especially at night. The wind farm could also interfere with military radars used to track F-15E practice runs.
