The Sukhoi Su-30SM flew for the first time on Sept. 21 with test pilots Sergei Kostin and Pavel Malovechko at the controls.
The SM differs from the earlier SUu-30MK by having its avoinics and other systems designed in accordance with the Russian Air Force.
