U.S. Army to designate AH-64D Block III as AH-64E

The U.S. Army says the new Block III Apache has so much improvements that it should be designated as the AH-64E.

  1. At least the Army has the guts to redesignate it. The Air Force is afraid to change designators when there are significant differences because they fear Congress will think it’s a whole new airplane. Thus the fiction with the F-16C, F-16CG, F-16CJ, F-16CM, etc.
