USAF going ahead with A-29 contract despite protest

The U.S. Air Force is invoking a clause in the Competition in Contracting Act to override a stop work order for the Afghan LAS contract.

Hawker Beechcraft had challenged again the decision to award the contract to Sierra Nevada Corp. and Embraer. Work is frozen when a protest is filed with the GAO, however, the U.S. Air Force said an override of that work-stoppage is for the “best interests of the United States or unusual and compelling circumstances.”
