RMAF EC725s affected by restrictions

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is unhappy that it cannot operate the EC725 without restrictions due to problems with the civilian EC225.

Right now the engine’s gearbox must be checked every two and a half hours when the helicopter is flown for 20 minutes at 70% of its full torque capabilities. Training and work up is being severely disrupted by the checks.
