The Pentagon has always maintained that the Taliban got lucky on their attack of Camp Bastion, but recent interviews of officials with direct knowledge suggests security cutbacks was the cause.
The attackers were able to exploit the weakness in the security perimeter due to an unmanned tower and reduced foot patrols.
