Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri has put a hold on the promotion of Air Force Lt. Gen. Susan Helms, former astronaut and former commander at Patrick Air Force Base, to vice commander of Air Force Space Command.
McCaskill is unhappy over Helms’ decision to overturn a military-jury conviction in a sexual-assault case.
