The U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) has been trying to take over the combat search-and-rescue (CSAR) mission from Air Combat Command (ACC), Defense News reports.
AFSOC believes its fleet of CV-22 and HH-60s can do the job carried out by ACC’s HH-60Gs.
