Raytheon on Jul. 30 sue ATK for failing to deliver rocket motors for the AIM-120 under contract, the next day, ATK filed a federal lawsuit claiming damages from Raytheon for canceling the rocket motor orders.
Raytheon claimed that ATK had supplied defective motors that failed to fire in cold temperatures. It then switched to Nammo AS as supplier for the motors. ATK countered that this makes it impossible for the company to fulfill its contract obligations to deliver the motors.
