U.S. MDA looks at arming UAVs with lasers for boost-phase interception

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is studying concepts to equip UAVs with a yet-to-be-developed laser for shooting down ballistic missiles at their boost-phase.

Flying high above clouds, the drone will require less optics to compensate for distortions.
