The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has released its plans for a reusable hypersonic unmanned launch vehicle called XS-1.
The goal is for the Mach 10 vehicle to deploy an upper stage to insert 3,000-5,000lb payloads into low Earth orbit at less than $5 million per launch.
