Indian Navy to stand up MiG-29K squadron on east coast

India’s Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi indicated that a squadron of MiG-29Ks will eventually be stationed at INS Dega on the east coast of India.

“The intention is to have air capabilities on both the Western and Eastern seaboards due to the growing security needs of the country. The first MiG 29K squadron has already been positioned on the Western seaboard at Goa and the next squadron will be based at INS Dega soon.”
