Commander of Italian Army Aviation killed in helicopter crash

Maj. Gen. Giangiacomo Calligaris, head of the Italian Army Aviation, was killed in a AB206 crash on Jan. 23.

The aircraft apparently hit a power cable while flying in the province of Viterbo. Calligaris was flying with a junior army officer, who was killed in the crash as well.
