French Air Force will have two versions of A330 MRTT

France has decided to take in a version of the A330 MRTT that lack features it required due to a lack of funds and a need for early delivery.

Tranche one will come deliver with avionics and a central boom and an underwing drogue and hose system that has been developed by Airbus. This version lacks a cargo door as well.

The next version will have a specific refueling rig and a satcom datalink plus the cargo door. Older versions will be retrofitted into the same configuration.
