Researchers from the U.S. National Wildlife Research Center found that bird strikes are most problematic for helicopters.
Combing through records from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard from 1979 to 2011, lead scientist Brian Washburn found most strikes occurred on helicopters.
