Problems at Palmdale forced USAF to shift all F-22 depot maintenance to Hill AFB

The U.S. Government Accountability Office has revealed why the U.S. Air Force chose to consolidate its F-22 depot maintenance at Hill Air Force Base rather than splitting the job with a Lockheed Martin facility in Palmdale, California.

It turns out that the Palmdale depot was returning aircraft much longer than planned due to management turnover. The Palmdale facility also charged more for labor for performing the same maintenance.
