Lt. Col. Greg “Papa” Wintill, commander of the 65th Aggressor Squadron, has confirmed that his squadron will be deactivated on Sept. 26.
Out of the 19 jets in the squadron, six jets plus a spare will be transferred to the 64th Aggressor Squadron, which operates the F-16. But the transfer is only temporary and all six jets are expected to be retired after March next year.
