Lt. Col. Michael J. Briggs, the 52nd Fighter Wing chief of safety at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, was convicted of rape by court-martial on Aug. 7.
The rape occurred in 2005 while Briggs was on a temporary duty assignment at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.
Briggs was also the Pacific Air Force F-16 demonstration pilot while stationed at Misawa Air Base, Japan in 2008.
