The U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) has added armor plates to the floor of its CV-22 tilt-rotors.
The optional plates could add 800 pounds of weight and the mission commander will have to trade off the extra weight by reducing the number of troops carried or the fuel endurance.
