Australia’s Defense Department said Chemring Australia had supplied 180,000 defective flares and has filed a lawsuit to reclaim millions of dollars.
The KC-001 IR Decoy Flare was delivered between 2008 to 2011. A total of 19 shipments were made. The government complained that the flares suffered from serious quality control problems.
