Request to recover remains of RAF crew that crashed in jungle of Malaysia turned down

The Royal Air Force’s Air Historical Branch has turned down a request from former British servicemen for the remains of an RAF Dakota that crashed into the Malaysian jungle in 1948 to be recovered.

The aircraft went down in November 1948 during communist insurgency. The Dakota was on a mission to locate a Spitfire that had crashed.
