CSBA recommends Taiwan adopt ‘guerrilla’ air defense to deter China

The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments has recommended that Taiwan adopt a guerrilla air defense posture to deter an invasion from mainland China.

The authors proposed the island arms itself with ESSM surface-to-air missiles on road mobile launchers configured like trucks carrying shipping containers.

These missiles should be cued by passive infrared search track systems that will complicate PLA’s attempt to wipe out Taiwan’s air defenses.
