It has emerged that Airbus was the only company to respond to a RFP from India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for an AEW&C program.
The aerospace giant is offering the A330 and will integrate the mission systems on the aircraft. One challenging aspect would be getting civilian certification for the modified aircraft.
