USAF to have F-15E, F-16 squadrons dedicated to CAS mission

The U.S. Air Force will assign the role of close air support to some of its F-15E and F-16 squadrons as it retires the A-10.

“We want those CAS expertise to go to those squadrons that are dedicated to CAS to keep that expertise, that knowledge base, that culture alive,” said Gen. Herbert Carlisle.
