Mid-air collision of two Hornets from Carrier Air Wing 17 ruled accident

The U.S. Navy has concluded that the mid-air collision between two F/A-18Cs from VFA-94 and VFA-113 on Sept. 12, 2014 was an accident.

Both jets crashed in the waters near Marshall Islands and one pilot died.

Investigators found that the pilot who was killed had flown his jet into the rear of the other Hornet.
