Historic building in Michigan damaged during helicopter insertion exercise

A historic building in downtown Port Huron, Michigan, was damaged in the wee hours of Jun. 8 when downwash from a Black Hawk helicopter caused bricks to fall onto the building’s awning and broke the glass windows.

The U.S. Army was conducting an urban warfare training exercise in southeastern Michigan at the time of the incident.
