Bell worried surplus Kiowas could cannibalized sales of its rotocraft

As the U.S. Army retires the OH-58 Kiowa scout helicopter, a number of them are expected to be put up as Excess Defense Article (EDA). Bell is concerned that this will affect its sale of new aircraft.

CEO John Garrison told reporters at Paris Airshow that his company is discussing with the U.S. government to limit the number of EDA Kiowas. He did concede that some nations can only afford to purchase EDA aircraft.
