U.S. Senate wants Taiwan to participate in Red Flag exercises

The U.S. Senate passed the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act which included a provision to invite Taiwan to participate in the Red Flag exercises.

Another provision calls for active-duty U.S. senior-level officers to visit the island to get a better understanding of its military.
