Former U.S. Navy Instructor asked China to help break him out of jail, offers expertise in return

A former U.S. Navy fighter pilot, currently in jail for producing child pornography, secretly tried to get help from Chinese Embassy to break him out of prison.

Daniel Chase Harris wrote in a letter that he is willing to share his fighter pilot expertise in return. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Yusi said in court documents the Chinese Embassy letter was sent using another inmate’s name.

  1. Changing the header for this article would be appropriate since the guy mentioned in the article was not a TOPGUN Instructor. He was a graduate of the TOPGUN course. He was an “instructor” somewhere else though.
