Indonesia Air Force identifies A400M, C-17 as potential replacements for C-130

A study to replace its aging C-130 transport fleet has been completed, Indonesia Air Force chief Air Marshal Agus Supriatna told reporters.

When queried, a spokesman from the Defense Ministry said the A400M and C-17 have been shortlisted as potential candidates.

“The Airbus A400M and Boeing C-17 Globemaster are larger and newer, and the procurement is expected to be made during the period between 2016 and 2018.”
