A CV-22 crew from the 20th Special Operations Squadron received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with Valor on Oct. 6.

They earned the awards for their heroic actions during a deployment on Dec. 5, 2014.
The CV-22 come to the rescue of a special operations assault force that came under heavy enemy fire. They evacuated the wounded, carried out critical aerial refueling and made the first CV-22 shipboard contingency landing on a U.S. Navy ship.
