F-16C forced to jettison two external fuel tanks

Shaw Air Force Base officials said the pilot of an F-16C from the 20th Fighter Wing was forced to jettison two 370-gallon external fuel tanks over an unpopulated area in South Carolina during a training mission on Oct. 28 afternoon.

The pilot experienced an in-flight emergency around 12:30 p.m. and later landed safely at North Auxiliary Airfield.
